Q: How many radios do you need?
A:Just one or two - Consider a Vertex Standard VX451 handheld or VX2100 for vehicle.**
A: 3 to 5 - We have a wide variety of both Convential and Digital Radios that can suit your needs. We are a full range, authorized dealer of Vertex Radios. Also be sure to consider a Package Deal.
A: 6 or more - We first recommend you check out our Packages, but please contact us for volume discounts and pricing.
Q: How many channels do you need?
A: Just 1 or up to 8 - Again, the VX451 and VX2100** are both great models
A: 8 to 32 - If you need more channels, the VX451 can provide up to 32 channels, and the VX2200** up to 128.
A: 32 to 128 - If you're needs are more complex that the more simple models, perhaps the VX454 (which can provide up to 512 channels) or VX2200** (which can provide up to 128 channels) would be a better fit. Also consider the distances if you do not already have a radio network.
A: Hundreds - We have very high end radios available, the VX459 is the elite hand held commercial two way radio. You may also consider the Vertex VXD7200** Digital two way radio. Contact us for more information.
Q: How far away do you need to talk?
A: A Few Hundred Feet - Any of our radios are a good fit for this.
A:Hundreds of Feet up to Two Miles - You likely need a VHF radio. Check our product lines for a variety of Two Way Radios with the VHF option.
A: More than Two Miles - You will need to consider several repeaters, please feel free to contact us if you would like to talk about your needs.
Q: How much talking do you expect?
A: Very little - Any of our radios are a good fit for this.
A: Average - Any of our radios are a good fit for this because we always use the best, quality batteries. Also think about getting a gang charger if you have more than a few radios.
A: Tons of it - If you talk lots, any of our radios are a good fit for this, but you should consider extra batteries and a gang charger as well. Maybe one of our Packages is a good fit for you!

Q: Do I need to worry about FCC Licensing?
A: This depends on Frequency - Most radio frequencies that use more then minimal power (tenths of watt) require an FCC radio license. Contact Us for more information on FCC Licensing.
Q: What is the big difference between Digital and Convential Radios?
A: Digital Radios - give somewhat better range and best received audio.
Q: What Radios can I use as a Base Station?
A: AnyMobile Radios - Any of the mobile two way radios can be used as a base radio with the addition of a properly sized dc power supply and base antenna with coax. .
Q: Is there an easier way to use a handheld, portable radio?
A: Yes! - When using a handheld/portable radio a speaker microphone makes use a lot easier for most applications.
**Mobile radios installed in vehicles need a high current, fused power connection, never thru the cigarette lighter or accessory power jack.
